About

After dabbling for years in making her own botanical balms, herb infused oils, tinctures and teas, Danielle Marcos took the plunge in 2024, and began her own urban herb farm supported by Sundance Commons. Danielle is now growing ten herb crops on 1000 sq ft of land at the Commons educational site at Woodbine Racetrack. All herbs are grown using organic methods (no chemical pesticides or fertilizers), and are hand harvested, dried at low temperature, and carefully processed to create exceptional quality products.

Earthstar Botanicals' Goals:

1) Regenerative Farming:

Instead of extracting, Earthstar Botanicals herb farm aims to regenerate the landscape by using methods that build the soil, and plant species (including native species) that create an oasis for pollinators and other beneficial insects, birds, and wildlife. This is an endless learning project and experiment in living and working in right relationship to the Land and All My Relations.

2) Beautiful Botanicals:

Earthstar Botanicals body butters, oils, teas, and culinary creations are true gifts of Mother Earth, pure and potent, and free of any chemical additives. They are super fresh and made in small batches, so preservatives aren't needed. They are meant to be good for your body, a joy to your senses, and a balm for your heart.

3) Plant-Human Bonding:

Plants are our big brothers and sisters. They have been our food, medicine, clothing, fuel, and shelter since time immemorial. Yet we no longer know their names, smells, or tastes. Deep down, we are lonely for each other. It is time to reconnect! Through Earthstar Botanical's workshops, the herb farm becomes your learning space, where you can reconnect with your green siblings, and begin your own herbal journey.
